Catching A Wave 07-03-23

We hear a couple of tracks from the new free sampler Vol. 5 from Triple Agent Records (Chewbacca's and Thalasses) this hour (more in coming weeks too)! Always fun artwork with those! We pay tribute to the late, great Dickie Harrell (Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame drummer for Gene Vincent & His Blue Caps) who passed away on May 31st, 2023 and hear a song from his 1961 solo album on Capitol Records. We board the Catching A Wave Time Machine for the week ending October 26th, 1963 for radio station WQAM 560 AM and hear some songs on their chart that week (including the #1 song). We'll spin a tune from a Dick Dale & His Del-Tones album that is celebrating it's 60th anniversary this year in our Good Time segment. Beth Riley has a July 4th themed tune from The Beach Boys in her Surf's Up: Beth's Beach Boys Break. KISS has a rockin' instrumental patriotic tune in the mix as well and we'll drop a coin in the Jammin' James Jukebox to hear our selection of the week.
