Catching A Wave 05-13-24

 


Our fun interview segment called The Green Room returns this hour as Beth Riley and I talk with Nicole from The Surfrajettes. We hear a tune from them and a special request from Nicole as well (The Astronauts). There's a track from an album by Dick Dale & His Del-Tones celebrating it's 60th anniversary in our Good Time segment. Beth has a deep track from The Beach Boys in her Surf's Up- Beth's Beach Boys Break and we drop a coin in the Jammin' James Jukebox to hear our selection of the week (a mid 70's single by The King Of Twang- Duane Eddy!! This show was recorded shortly before his untimely passing). Catching A Wave 11-21-22

 

We play a trio of tunes honoring the late, great Jerry Lee Lewis who passed away on October 28th at 87 years old.  There's a live track from 1964 from him, Jimmy Page teaming up with Jerry Lee on a Led Zeppelin cover and a Killer cover from The 5678's!  Beth Riley has a deep track from The Beach Boys on her Surf's Up: Beth's Beach Boys Break.  We also play the final track from their That's Why God Made The Radio release as we finish up our 10th anniversary celebration of that release and we'll drop a coin in the Jammin' James Jukebox for our selection of the week.  Plus, there's great tunes in the mix from Frankie and The Pool Boys, Ichi-Bons, The Malibooz, The Green Reflectors, The Eye Five, Wiped Out, Monster Wave, Lucky 757, High Noon Kahuna, Messer Chups, Jim & The Sea Dragons, The Courettes and Sys Malakian!
